Editorial standards
How Oddly Profitable researches, sources, checks and corrects its articles.
Sources
Every factual claim is linked to a numbered source listed at the end of the article, with the publisher, the publication date where available, and the date we retrieved it. We prefer official and first-party sources: company filings and announcements, marketplace and platform documentation, government agencies and published research.
We do not publish invented quotations, statistics, prices, product features, tests or personal experience. Where information is not published, we say so.
How articles are produced
Research and drafting are assisted by AI. Each article goes through research from retrieved sources, drafting, a claim-by-claim check against those sources, and automated checks on figures, repetition and duplication. Articles are checked so that they are not copies of articles on other publications in the same network. Automated checks reduce errors but do not guarantee accuracy.
Images
Images are, in order of preference: screenshots of the official pages we cite, openly licensed photographs with their licence and credit, press images supplied for media use, charts drawn from the cited data, and editorial illustrations. Generated illustrations never depict data, products or interfaces as if they were real. Every image carries its credit or source.
Commercial relationships
Articles about a company connected to the publisher are labelled, and the relationship is described on our disclosure page. Comparisons use published information and recognise competitors' genuine advantages.
Updates and corrections
Articles show when they were published, last updated and last verified. Factual errors are corrected and the article's updated date changes.
